Following their 2-1 win against a strong and resilient Wusum Stars from Makeni, Bo Rangers has been crowned Champion of the Sierra Leone Premier League for the third time in a row.
This all important encounter for Bo Rangers against Wusum Stars took place at the prestigious Southern Arena Stadium, on Sunday 12 June, 2024.
This victory has seen Bo Rangers to clinch the Sierra Leone Premier League tittle back-to-back, and it’s also their third tittle in a row. They won the League title with only three defeat after 31 matches played so far and few games to go. They have one of the best records in the history of Sierra Leone football. They had played 31 matches, win 21 games, draw 7 with only 3 defeat and they have secured 70 points so far with few games more to play.
It could be recalled that Bo Rangers won the league last year unbeatable. They managed to avoid defeat in all of their matches last season. They are one of the few teams in Sierra Leone football history to accomplish an unprecedented milestone by going through the entire season without any defeat.
The Elephant Boys of the South as they normally called them are the fifth team in the history of Sierra Leone football to win the League back-to-back. Diamond Stars did it in 2012 and 2013 season, also Mighty Blackpool in 1978 and 1979, Real Republicans also in 1983 and 1984. However, East End Lions is the only team that has won the League three times in a row, 1992, 1993, and 1994 respectfully. Bo Rangers has replicated this record under the leadership of Mr. Babadi Kamara and the Head Coach, John Keister. Bo Rangers is the first provincial team to win the Sierra Leone premier league for the third time.
Bo Rangers is based in the country’s second City of Bo. The team has one of the best defends in the league. They had the most wins.
According to a press release from the Sierra Leone Premier League Board, the board extended its heartfelt congratulations to Bo Rangers Football Club for their outstanding achievement in winning the 2023/2024 Leone Rock Premier League.
It noted that, this remarkable victory marks Bo Rangers third consecutive league title, making them the first provincial team to accomplish that historic feat.
It continued that they applauded Bo Rangers for their incredible performance and for bringing pride to their community and the entire nation.
