In a remarkable demonstration of its commitment to community development and quality education, the Leone Rock Metal Group (LRMG) has officially handed over the newly constructed Almuajireen Islamic Secondary School to the Lungi-Lol Community. The handing-over ceremony, organized with great enthusiasm, marked a significant milestone in addressing the long-standing educational needs of the area.
The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Mohamed Turay, LRMG’s Community and Security Manager, who led the formal handing-over, alongside his dedicated team from the Community Department and Human Resources. Key stakeholders such as Honorable Aminata Sesay, Honorable Ishmael Sankoh-Yillah, representatives from the District Council, the Regent Chief, local teachers, pupils, and community members were also present to witness this historic occasion.
In his address, Mohamed Turay highlighted that the construction of the Almuajireen Islamic Secondary School was part of LRMG’s broader Community Development Action Plan (CDAP), which focuses on sustainable initiatives that directly benefit communities within the company’s operational areas. “This school represents more than just bricks and mortar; it symbolizes hope, opportunity, and a brighter future for the children of Lungi-Lol. Education is the cornerstone of development, and it is our collective responsibility to safeguard and maintain this institution for generations to come,” Turay emphasized.
He further called on all stakeholders to take ownership of the school, stressing the importance of community involvement in ensuring the school remains a beacon of academic excellence and a catalyst for socio-economic growth.
