In a remarkable demonstration of its commitment to community development and quality education, the Leone Rock Metal Group (LRMG) has officially handed over the newly constructed Almuajireen Islamic Secondary School to the Lungi-Lol Community. The handing-over ceremony, organized with great enthusiasm, marked a significant milestone in addressing the long-standing educational needs of the area.

The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Mohamed Turay, LRMG’s Community and Security Manager, who led the formal handing-over, alongside his dedicated team from the Community Department and Human Resources. Key stakeholders such as Honorable Aminata Sesay, Honorable Ishmael Sankoh-Yillah, representatives from the District Council, the Regent Chief, local teachers, pupils, and community members were also present to witness this historic occasion.

In his address, Mohamed Turay highlighted that the construction of the Almuajireen Islamic Secondary School was part of LRMG’s broader Community Development Action Plan (CDAP), which focuses on sustainable initiatives that directly benefit communities within the company’s operational areas.  “This school represents more than just bricks and mortar; it symbolizes hope, opportunity, and a brighter future for the children of Lungi-Lol. Education is the cornerstone of development, and it is our collective responsibility to safeguard and maintain this institution for generations to come,” Turay emphasized.

“This school is a dream come true for many families in our community. We are grateful to LRMG for listening to our needs and investing in the future of our children,” said one of the community elders during the ceremony.

The handing-over ceremony not only celebrated the physical completion of the school but also symbolized the strengthened partnership between LRMG and the Lungi- Lol community. As the Almuajireen Islamic Secondary School opens its doors to eager learners, it stands as a beacon of hope and a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through collaboration, commitment, and community spirit.
