The trusted, experienced and servant leader is the man the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) party should not ignore, but throw their support behind and elect him as the party’s Presidential candidate (flag bearer) at 2026 National Delegates’ Conference (NDC).
Hon Chrenor Ramadan Maju Bah, popularly known as Chericoco is a born and bred APC. Hon Chericoco is fully prepared and ready for the party’s top job. APC delegates have the golden opportunity to elect the next APC executive, a reason they should properly search their consciences by way of casting their votes for the true APC loyalist, Hon Chericoco, the right candidate for the job.
He has paid his fair share of party dues in diverse ways from an APC member to an ordinary Member of Parliament and to date. Even as this piece is inked, he is continuing with the APC party works.
The loyalty of Hon. Chrenor Ramadan Maju Bah can be hardly equated with any his rival contenders within the APC, not to mention this country’s political circles, a reason his admirers say ‘Chericoco is as constant as the northern star.’
With the much-anticipated APC 2026 NDC fast approaching, contenders have so far emerged from the four corners of Sierra Leone and beyond, vying for only one position- the leadership of the APC, with the aim of taking the party to the 2028 Presidential polls.
Loud calls from across the globe urge the party’s 11A Railway Line National Secretariat, some reformists calling for strategic reforms and redemption of the APC from the claws of weak leadership via the ballot box come 2026 onto 2028.
Overenthusiastic APC contenders with tight narratives are busy manufacturing their respective political CVs, all in furtherance towards certifying their candidacies for the APC flag bearer seat, and by extension for the presidency of the Republic of Sierra Leone. The fact that weak politicians are roaming all over the place with the notion that whoever wins the APC flag bearer contest will eventually become the next President, such does not necessarily mean that all manner of politicians should contend for the frontrunner of the APC party.
Based on studies recently conducted by FORUM NEWS SL, a good number of stained APC politicians opting to become President are bent on doing so because they take the party and Sierra Leoneans for granted. It is no more business as usual. By the look of things, most of the contenders do not seem to be even well organized in their respective private lives and businesses, not to talk of pushing hard to take over the mantle of leadership of one of the biggest political parties in Africa.
This medium will soon start to name and shame these wannabe political scammers trying to lead the APC. Such overzealous contenders should therefore revert to their individual political ‘science labs’ for proper political experimentation to get themselves ready for the job, instead of playing catch-up with the hearts and minds of the people.
Sierra Leoneans can no longer be taken for granted come the APC NDC, and even for the presidency of the country. Citizens should support a well experienced, trusted and qualified candidate who is ready for the top job, not opportunists who think the APC is for sale, or a place for the image laundering of failed politicians.
It is no secret that everybody wants to be a leader, and no one is ready to step down for his/her comrade and allow the most qualified candidate to run the 2026 race and take the APC to the 2028 Presidential elections to unseat the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP).
Re-elect the APC back to power to again take up constructive national development that have been stalled since 4th April 2018 to date. Make no mistake, that particular candidate is Hon. Chrenor Ramadan Maju Bah. The APC should therefore support Chericoco to redeem the party from the SLPP despotic rule.
Additionally, the 2028 transition is not a battle for political prodigals, neither for those grappling with image and reputation challenges, but for tried and battle-tested and clean politicians Chericoco has always been with the APC all throughout the party’s trying times. Chericoco is a different brand of politician with very good leadership qualities backed by his high level of humility that goes beyond party circles, and has never identified himself with any other party except the APC party.
Being a true APC loyalist, Hon Chericoco remains firmly committed to the progress and development of the APC and the country by extension. Be it in the House of Parliament, in his past capacities as a Deputy Speaker of the House and later as a Leader of the Opposition in the House, Hon Chernor Ramadan Maju Bah has served the APC and the nation diligently. These responsibilities serve as clear testimonies of Ho.n Chrenor Ramadan Maju Bah’s wealth of excellent leadership experience. Thus, Hon. Chericoco deserves the APC flag bearer seat than any other contender in the party’s 2026 race.
At party level at the National Headquarters on 11A Old Railway Line, Brookfields in Freetown and across the country, Hon Chericoco is always touching bases with all class of party members. In his relentless push for the wellbeing of the party, Hon. Chericoco has made countless sacrifices of his time energy and resources from his personal purse. He has also used his purse to address critical political challenges faced by the APC party and members, a leadership responsibility he always considers as legitimate obligations for the progress, development and wellbeing of his APC comrades. He has so many times proven his leadership abilities to handle, govern and address the affairs of the APC at home and in the diaspora, the more reason he stands a better chance as the most experienced and qualified candidate for the APC party’s top job. He has what it takes the APC to victory come 2028.
With his unmatched leadership experience, Hon Bah needs no coaching from anybody as he has served in several APC leadership capacities.
During his tenure as MP, he served in several leadership responsibilities, ranging from Chairman of strategic parliamentary committees to the peak of a Deputy Speaker of the House, and Leader of the Opposition.
Hon Chericoco has also represented the Sierra Leone House of Parliament at ECOWAS Parliament, Pan-African and Commonwealth Parliaments.
