In a heartfelt return to his roots, Hon. Chernor Ramadan Maju Bah aka Chricoco graced the 103rd Anniversary celebration of his Alma mater, St. Edward’s Secondary School, bringing a wave of celebration and inspiration to the gathering.

The event, which took place at the school’s historic May Park Grounds in Kingtom, brought together alumni, students, and distinguished guests to commemorate over a century of academic excellence and character building.

Addressing the attendees, Hon. Bah fondly reminisced about his time as a student, reflecting on how the school’s values helped shape his career and personal philosophy. “This school instilled in me the importance of integrity, service, and the power of education. It is an honour to be part of this historic gathering as an alumnus, celebrating the enduring legacy of this great institution,” he expressed with deep appreciation.

The gathering was more than just a ceremony; it was a testament to the bonds of ‘Edwardianism’ that have stood the test of time. Former students shared memories of their time at the institution, while current students listened intently, eager to walk in the footsteps of those who came before them.

A key highlight of the celebration was a special induction ceremony where Hon. Bah had the honour of dressing Hon. Matthew Sahr Nyuma, Leader of Government Business in the Parliament of Sierra Leone, in Edwardian regalia. This symbolic act formally welcomed Hon. Nyuma into the Edwardian fraternity, a moment that was met with applause and admiration from those in attendance.

Throughout the event, the spirit of camaraderie was palpable, with alumni reflecting on the school’s remarkable contributions to Sierra Leone’s educational landscape. The celebration featured a series of activities, including speeches, musical performances, and presentations that paid tribute to St. Edward’s longstanding impact on the nation.

For many, the anniversary served as a reminder of the school’s profound influence, not just on the lives of its students but also on the broader society. Hon. Bah’s presence reinforced the idea that education remains a powerful tool in shaping leaders and change makers.

As the festivities drew to a close, attendees left with a renewed sense of pride and responsibility—to uphold the legacy of St. Edward’s and continue its mission of producing individuals committed to excellence, service, and integrity.

The 103rd Anniversary of St. Edward’s Secondary School was more than a milestone; it was a celebration of history, unity, and the indelible mark left by an institution that continues to shape generations of leaders.
