As consultations, canvasing and campaigns by party stakeholders are increasingly gaining momentum ahead of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) 2026 National Delegates’ Conference (Convention), Hon. Chernor Ramadan Maju Bah, popularly called Chericoco, has emerged as a significantly prepared political redeemer.

Having been earmarked for the job for far too long by partisans across the board, he has certainly manifested in diverse ways that he is the most appropriate candidate that the APC needs now moving forward to restore hope, trust and public confidence in the hearts and minds of not only his party followers and members but also the electorate.

Hon. Chernor Ramadan Maju Bah’s untainted public image, backed by his unprecedented depth of leadership experience over two decades, has served in so many state leadership capacities. Regarding significant features of his leadership traits, Hon. Chericoco’s reach goes beyond social, regional, partisan boundaries and ethnic boundaries have so far attracted attention of not only APC delegates but also nonpartisan Sierra Leoneans, a reason he’s called ‘a man of the people.’

Many APC partisans hold the view that such leadership qualities underpin the basis of reasons for the provision of a special space in the APC for Hon. Chernor Ramadan Maju Bah, the only APC politician who is already a leader in a national position of succession in the APC.

Groomed on a well-tailored APC conduct, morals and values, Hon. Chericoco’s professional career and his internal loyalty to the party have firmly positioned him as the kind of leader the APC and Sierra Leone might expect in 2026 onto 2028 and beyond.

While his support bases go beyond mere APC traditional strongholds, he remains committed with wisdom to shape the political future of the APC by way of uniting the party and the country as a whole.

Like ex-President Dr Ernest Bai Koroma, who served in Parliament before becoming a President in 2007, Hon. Chericoco needs no coaching. He has always been there in the driving seat. Hon. Chernor Ramadan Bah has served twice as Majority and Minority Leader in the House of Parliament of the Republic of Sierra Leone. He had also served as Vice Presidential candidate in 2018 and in 2023 presidential elections. Hon. Chericoco has a vision to unify Sierra Leone, restore hope and public trust.

Most APC delegates FORUM NEWS SL. spoke to at regional, district and constituency levels regarding their respective views about Hon. Chernor Ramadan Bah sound very much optimistic of his victory at the coming APC Convention. They believe that Hon. Chericoco is the most acceptable choice for the APC leadership, and should therefore be elected by delegates at the party’s 2026 Convention. They believe more in the devil they know than they angel they don’t know.

‘I am personally okay with the leadership of Hon. Chernor Ramadan Bah or Chericoco because he actually has the wealth of leadership experience required for both the APC flag bearer seat contest and even for the country’s Presidency. Vividly reflecting on his days in high-profiled public office, as a lawyer, and his time in the House of Parliament, where he formidably represented the APC and chaired strategic parliamentary committees. So as a party to just ignore the Hon. Chernor Ramadan Bah and come up with inexperience people with no idea of how to run the party’s affairs, not to mention how government works, will be very much counterproductive for us. We don’t need beginners this time around but well-groomed APC politicians like Hon Chernor Ramadan Maju Bah who is fully abreast with the issues to his fingertips, and can better handle and properly address the 2028 transition,’ observed a staunch APC Bombali delegate.

At next door in Magburaka in Tonkolili, Hon. Chericoco’s name sounds as household politician. He is hailed as the APC politician who will unite not only the party but the country as a whole, considering his level of interactions with Sierra Leoneans beyond partisan, ethnic and religious lines. Hon.

‘‘Chernor Ramadan Bah’s human touch cuts across. That is why I believe if given the chance by the APC 2026 Convention to lead the party, Hon Chericoco will promote cohesiveness, party and national unity,’’ said Alimamy Thorlie, an APC Tonkolili delegate who trades in assorted goods at the Maburaka Lorry park.

In places within the APC geopolitical and demographic spaces in the East, South and in the western area, APC party delegates keep conversing and consulting with their comrades to vote Hon. Chernor Ramadan Maju Bah for the 2026 Delegates’ Conference to help him redeem the APC.

It is on that note that one of Bah’s campaign strategists encourages delegates to throw their support behind Hon. Chericoco and vote him as the APC flagbearer at the approaching Convention.

Hon. Chernor Ramadan Bah is certainly a Good Political Shepherd that will liberate and inject a better change in the APC party and the country.
