Chief Minister Participates in 23rd Session of Committee of Experts at UN

The Chief Minister of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh, is currently participating in a five-day expert meeting at the UNHQ in New York. The 23rd session of the Committee of Experts on Public Administration (CEPA), commenced on April 15, 2024, in Conference Room 1 and will conclude on April 19, 2024.

During this session, the Committee will examine a range of issues in governance and public administration that are central to the implementation of the global 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

These issues include:

Institutional aspects of the theme of the 2024 session of the Economic and Social Council and the 2024 High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development on Peer exchange with Voluntary National Review countries and Voluntary Local Review cities on experiences and promising practices in implementing Sustainable Development Goals 16 and 17 respectively.

CEPA is an expert body that meets under the auspices of the United Nations Economic and Social Council in order to discuss and find ways to support the work of the Council by providing expert advice on matters concerning governance and public administration structures. CEPA members are nominated by the Secretary-General of the UN and approved by ECOSOC to serve four-year terms.
