An investment delegation from the People’s Republic of China has Monday 13 May 2024 registered its commitment towards investing in the national economy of Sierra Leone as well as in the renewable energy sector.
The delegation made the commitment during a courtesy call on the Chairman for Presidential Initiatives, Hon Dr Kandeh Kolleh Yumlela and the Presidential Spokesperson, Hon Dr Alhaji Alpha Khan at State House, Freetown.
Speaking during a meeting with their hosts, the Chairperson, Shenzhen Zhonbang Environmental Protection Technology Group, Madam Eva Wu, informed that their group represent several companies from China to explore investments opportunities in areas of energy, infrastructure and environmentally-friendly building materials.
Madam Wu presented innovative concepts about circular economy business opportunities such as using mining waste to produce green building materials for domestic use and exports.
Dr Yumkella also presented Sierra Leone’s abundant renewable energy investment opportunities. The delegation is also expected meet with other relevant line Ministries, Departments and Agencies for further and similar discussions.
