The Ministry of National Defense of the Peopleβs Republic of China Tuesday 9thΒ June, 2020 handed over emergency aid for combating COVID-19 to the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Sierra Leone during a presentation ceremony held at the 34thΒ Military Hospital, Wilberforce west of Freetown.
Symbolically handing over the emergency aid, His Excellency Ambassador Hu Zhangliang stated that βthe donation of medical supplies exemplifies the cordial relations between China and Sierra Leone and the traditional friendship between the two armies. One significant thing the two armies share in common is the love and responsibility for their people and their motherlandβ.
Ambassador Zhangliang said the donation from the PLA of the PRC will help enhance the RALAFβs capability in fighting the pandemic in Sierra Leone under the staunch leadership of President Julius Maada Bio.
Hon. Minister of Defense and Interim National Coordinator for the Government of Sierra Leone COVID-19 Response Brig. (Rtd.) Kellie Conteh extended the sincere thanks and profound appreciations to the PLA of PRC for the assistance, stating that the medical supplies will as always be used judiciously for its intended purpose.
