Chobby Williamson, a businessman was again arraigned before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No. 2, Thursday, 6th February 2025, for his trial on one count of shop breaking and larceny Contrary to Section 26(1) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particular of offence, Chobby Williams, on Saturday 10th August 2024 at No. 29 Chapel Street- Freetown in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone, broke and entered into the shop of Aye Kamara and stole therein the sum of eighteen thousand New Leones (NLe 18,000) and seven hundred united States dollars ($7,000), which is equivalent to sixteen thousand, eight hundred New Leones (NLe 16,800)- all to the total value of thirty four thousand, eight hundred New Leones (NLe 34,800), properties of the said Aye Kamara.
The state prosecution counsel, Deputy Superintendent of Police Williams, led in prosecution witness number three, Paul K Lebbie, who is DPC 19932 attached to the Western Police Station- Adelaide Street, Freetown as Exhibit Clerk, who revealed that he registered all files and exhibits brought to their office in respect of matters before for investigation.
He recalled that on the 22nd September, 2024, he was on duty when Inspector D.A. Mann gave him one old memory stick which he said had some footage and cash- NLe 880.00
He maintained that he registered the said items in the count exhibit book with serial number 31/24; and the exhibits have been in police custody and tendered them as follows:

Cash marked “Exhibit E 1-44.”
Magistrate Bangura refused bail because of the grievous nature of the offence charged, and the fact that accused had previously appeared before the magistrate, sending the accused on remand in the male correctional centre in Freetown.
The case has been adjourned to 13th February 2025 for further proceedings.
