In the presence of the Paramount Chief of Kaffu Bullom Chiefdom, PC Bai Shebora Sheba Gbereh 111, who also doubles as the PCMP for Port Loko District, hundreds if not thousands of fans and tens of other dignitaries in and out of Sierra Leone were in attendance to witness the opening ceremony of the 2022 Clozet Creation Football Competition. It was an atmosphere of love and greater ambiance. Also present were the two substantive Members of Parliament for the two Lungi constituencies; Hon. Ibrahim Aziz Kelly Bangura of Cons. 076 and Hon. Ing. Abdul Kargbo of Cons. 077. The Director of Sports for Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Sports was also in attendance. The stage was set and the match will kick-off.
Lungi Rangers were to play the Kanitonians. It was more like a clash of the Titans, if you like. Kanitonians played much of the ball for most parts of the game, but Lungi Rangers had luck and resilience and so in the 76th minute, Alpha Turay was able to get the only goal of the opener which also invariably stood as the first/opening goal in this year’s competition.
