The Centre of Dialogue on Human Settlement and Poverty Alleviation, CODOHSAPA has officially opened its 2026 Staff and Volunteer Orientation and Refresher Training Workshop with a strong call for reflection growth and renewed commitment to service.
Welcoming staff members and volunteers, the Board chair, Mr Christian Martyn Kamara expressed deep appreciation for the dedication and continued service of both long serving staff and volunteers whose efforts continue to drive the organization’s mission and impact across communities.
The workshop is being held under the theme Building on the Lessons Learnt to Enhance Our Growth a message described as timely and purposeful as the organization steps into a new year. Participants were encouraged to see the theme not as a slogan but as a clear call to action rooted in honest reflection learning and improvement.
Mr. Martyn Kamara emphasized that sustainable growth comes from deliberate learning from both successes and challenges encountered over the past year. The organization acknowledged that 2025 came with significant trials but also important achievements that now serve as valuable lessons for future progress.
He added that over the course of the workshop participants will revisit CODOHSAPA’s vision mission and core values while gaining deeper understanding of its strategic direction policies and operational procedures. The sessions are designed to strengthen professionalism efficiency and accountability across all levels of the organization.
Staff and volunteers were challenged to actively engage throughout the training by asking questions sharing experiences and learning from one another. The workshop was described as a practical opportunity to build capacity sharpen skills and improve performance in line with the organization’s mandate.
The leadership also highlighted the seriousness of CODOHSAPA’s work noting that issues of human settlement and poverty alleviation remain complex and deeply rooted. As such the organization requires a workforce that is professional reliable and fully committed to delivering results that positively affect lives and communities.
Mr. Kamara emphasized the teamwork collaboration and mutual respect. Participants were reminded that individual strengths whether technical administrative or community based must be harnessed collectively to achieve greater impact.
The connection between personal development and institutional growth was also underscored with staff and volunteers encouraged to view the workshop as a platform for both self improvement and organizational advancement.
Looking ahead to 2026, Mr Kamara optimism while acknowledging that challenges will persist. Participants were urged to remain focused on the people and communities they serve and to draw motivation from the real life impact of their work.
The workshop concluded its opening session with a call for renewed energy discipline and unity as CODOHSAPA positions itself for a year of strengthened systems expanded impact and continued service to humanity.
