“As a conscientious lyrical innovator, my aspiration is to utilize the potency of music as a catalyst for education and spark meaningful transformation”.
Hailing from Sierra Leone, Martin S. Kandeh (Cosko-B) is an Afro-Reggae Musician, lyricist, live performer and social advocate. Cosko-B’s music expedition began in 2002, and has encompassed the release of three reggae albums; featuring compositions that propagate awareness and address social and economic
concerns inclusive of: social disparity and injustice, women’s and childrens’ liberties, and youth joblessness.
Through extensive touring, Cosko-B endeavours to stimulate favourable changes within communities, his country, and the global community as a whole. Alongside this, Cosko-B organizes self-funded, free live road shows to enlighten his countrymen on their rights and duties and to inspire constructive viewpoints.
In 2017, Cosko-B was acknowledged as the Reggae Artist of the Year by the Sierra Leone DJ’s Union (SLeDU) in regard to his peerless commitment to the Reggae music genre. This distinction serves as a manifestation of the influence music can have in promoting positive change throughout societies.
Cosko-B recently completed his PhD at Durham University, United Kingdom, that kept him deeply engrossed in his studies, a commitment that took him temporarily away from the limelight and the reggae beats fans worldwide cherish.
Cosko-B’s forthcoming album will persist in addressing the social concerns impacting Sierra Leone and the international community, and stimulate aspirations for a brighter future.
