Hon. Frank Kposowa and Philip Neville were chatting with Karim-Sei about the red color and green cell phones Hawa Moseray gave Isata Jabbie and Sylvanus Kargbo to distribute amongst journalists while they were eating and having fun, a gesture that was highly appreciated by the media practitioners.
Hawa Moseray was shaking the hands of her colleagues as most of them were eager to hear from her about developments upabove, especially about the ruling SLPP and the opposition APC party.
Suddenly, Olu Gordon appeared and all the journalists shouted: “one man gang!, one man gang!.”
Olu Gordon went straight to Karim Sei and Hon. Frank Kposowa, shook their hands as they both offered him a seat and invited him to get his own service including drinks.
Jon Z. Foray stood up and said loudly, “folks, breaking news! breaking news! SLPP Hon. Dr. Bu Buakai-Jabbie has arrived in Downtown downbelow. Also, one potential APC presidential flag bearer Jagaban is making waves upabove.”
He continued, “the 2028 general elections will be tough though but I know SLPP will be victorious provided they put their house in order otherwise they will be given a run for their money or a bloody nose by the opposition APC, especially if Jagaban wins the party’s presidential ticket.”
Karim-Sei nodded his head before he responded, “can we please wait for Hawa Moseray? As you are aware, our colleague Olu Gordon has just arrived and we must allow him to eat and rest. As you can see, everybody is enjoying their food and drinks.”
Karim Sei inquired from Osman Ben Kargbo, “when did Hon. Dr. Bubakia Jabbie arrive here?”
“Osman Ben Kargbo, responded, “SLPP no way, no way, the people say Jagaban, you say SLPP? The difference between Jagaban and the old politicians is that he wants to address the practical issues affecting the people such as provision of electricity and water supply, public transportation and the likes. For example, if Jagaban succeeds to get the ferries, kekehs and buses running he would have won the hearts of millions of voters even before elections that are still two years away.”
Osman Ben Kargbo went on, “furthermore, this is not the time for policies, manifestos, speeches and promises, but practical solutions to decades-long problems affecting the people. The people want results and performance as they are eager for rapid development. They have suffered for years.”
Hon. Frank Kposowa interrupted and asked, “Jay Z, who’s this so called Jagaban Osman Ben-Kargbo mentioned? In fact, what’s his real name? Do you think he will bulldoze his way so easily like that?”
Hon. Kposowa turned to Gbondima Gbondo and asked,” Gbondima, what do you think about that?”
Gbondima smiled before he said calmly, “Oba, that was the very reason I attempted to contest the SLPP presidential ticket and subsequently become President of Sierra Leone. Unlike the APC, some of our brothers and sisters within the party are greedy and selfish. APC rewards its local supporters even if they are not qualified for a job, they don’t care. They appoint them to top positions and tell them to learn on the job. That is now many of them made fortunes.”
He continued, “let’s wait and hear what Hawa Moseray will tell us about Maada Bio and his government.”
