In a remarkable show of compassion and leadership, Dr. Ibrahim Bangura, a leading flagbearer hopeful of the All People’s Congress (APC) for the 2028 general elections, has captured the admiration of thousands across Sierra Leone’s Southern Region through a historic food distribution initiative.
The humanitarian gesture, which covered Moyamba, Bo, Bonthe, and Pujehun Districts, was carried out under the dynamic coordination of Ambassador James Barmy Kaindoh, the APC Moyamba District Chairman, who is widely regarded as “The Servant of the APC” for his unwavering dedication to grassroots empowerment and party unity.
The event brought together senior APC officials and supporters from across the South, showcasing a rare and powerful display of unity and shared purpose. Among the key attendees were Chairman James Barmy Kaindoh of Moyamba District, Chairman Sheriff of Bonthe, Chairman Amidu Kaita of Bo, and Chairman Mohamed Amadu Sesay (popularly known as Dr. Woor) of Pujehun District. Their collective presence sent a clear message, that the APC remains united, revitalized, and ready to strengthen its foothold across the Southern Region ahead of the 2028 elections.
Dr. Bangura’s donation of foodstuffs to families and communities across the four districts was more than an act of generosity. It was a deliberate gesture aimed at reaffirming his commitment to people-centered leadership, inclusiveness, and the core values of the APC, justice, service, and national development.
Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Kaindoh described Dr. Bangura’s outreach as “a living testament to what true leadership looks like.” He praised the initiative as both strategic and compassionate, adding that Dr. Bangura’s brand of leadership embodies hope for the ordinary Sierra Leonean and the spirit of service that has long defined the APC.
“Under Dr. Bangura’s leadership, the APC stands poised to reclaim its legacy as the party of the people, grounded in compassion, service, and unity,” Ambassador Kaindoh declared.
In his response, Dr. Bangura expressed deep appreciation for the steadfast loyalty of APC supporters across the South, many of whom have remained faithful to the party even during challenging times. He pledged to continue uplifting the spirits of party members and ordinary citizens alike, noting that leadership is best measured by service to others.
“The future we seek to build for Sierra Leone must begin with acts of love, service, and unity — values that define the APC and its people,” Dr. Bangura stated.
The event drew massive crowds of supporters, youth groups, and women’s organizations who chanted songs of unity and renewal. Party leaders from all four Southern Districts pledged full support for Dr. Bangura, describing him as a visionary leader who listens, serves, and unites.
Observers have since described the initiative as a defining moment for the APC’s revival in the South. The gesture has sparked widespread enthusiasm among party faithful both locally and in the diaspora, many of whom see Dr. Bangura’s leadership as a symbol of hope and renewal for the APC.
The Moyamba District Media and Communication Unit commended the gesture and called on all APC members nationwide to emulate such servant leadership. As the party looks ahead to 2028, the message from the Southern Region was clear and resounding:
“We stand with Dr. Ibrahim Bangura, the People’s Choice, the Party’s Pride, and the Nation’s Future.”
