Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Pademba road court No1, Freetown judicial district has remanded a 52 years old trader, Abu-Bakarr Kanu for unlawful possession of 27 wraps of Kush and 50 warps of cannabis sativa without any lawful authority.
According to the charge sheet, the accused is standing trial on a two count, that is, unlawful possession of cannabis sativa and kush contrary to section 8(a) of the National Drugs Control Act 20228, Act No10 of 2008.
It was alleged that the accused, Abu Bakarr Kanu on Wednesday 10th May this year at No. 8 Kojo Street Makani, Northern Province found in possession of 50 warps of cannabis sativa contained in black plastic bag weighed 97.5 grams without lawful authority.
Police further alleged on count two that the accused on the same date was found in possession of 27 wraps of kush contained also in a plastic bag weighed 18.8 grams without lawful authority.
The accused has no legal representation, and therefore he was remanded by magistrate Ngegba.
The matter comes up on 7th June, 2023.
