East End Lions FC has defeated Diamond Stars at the Trade Center Field by two goals to nil. This all important victory for the Killers took place on Wednesday 14th February 2024 at the Trade Center Field in Freetown. East End Lions FC bounce back from their goalless draw match against Old Edwardians at the Parade Ground Field in a never to be forgotten encounter.
The Killers performance in this year’s Sierra Leone Premier League is not encouraging and going to the match they fans were expecting a lot from the team and at the end of the day, they bagged all three points against Diamond Stars. Going into the match both teams were well determine for the three points and there were a lot of chances created in the first half of play, but nothing to show for it, because it ended goalless in the first half.
The second half started with a lot of energy from the host team East End Lions and the finally got the breakthrough in the 50th minutes of played a goal scored by Issac Ageyemango, and Mohamed Belo Kebba a former player of Diamond Stars double the lead for the host East End Lions in the 58th minutes and he demonstrated respect for his former team by not celebrating his goal. The two second half goals saw East End Lions FC to win the game by two goals to zero.
The remarkable display of Isaac Opoku Agyemang of East End Lions helped him to won the Man of the match award. His talents and exceptional performance had an undeniable influence on the outcome of the match against Diamond Stars.
East End Lions are currently in 9th position with 21 points after 16 matches played so far in the league. They have won just 4 out of 16 games lost 3 and draw 9. Meanwhile, Diamond Stars from Kono are in 14th position after played 14 games with 15 points in the League. They have won 4 matches, draw 3 and lost 7 games.
