Maada Kandeh, Staff of Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone has narrated to this medium how his resident was ransacked and properties stolen by his Co- tenant Abu Bakar Kamara.
Abu Bakarr Kamara is before Magistrate Sahr Kekura for conspiracy to commit felony and four counts charges of burglary and larceny contrary to Section 25(1) and 13(a) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the particular of offence, that the accused, Abu Bakarr Kamara, Thursday 16th June 2022 – last year, at City Road Wellington in Freetown judicial district, with intent broke into Maada Kandeh premises of the same address and stole certain valuable properties worth thousand Leones.
Led in evidence by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Osman Mohamed Bangura prosecutes the matter in court.
The Second Prosecution Witness (PW2) Maada Kenneh told the court that he recognized the accused as his co- worker and tenant in the same address.
I recalled on Thursday 16th 2022, he was at home sleeping at night and about 5:00am in the morning, when I woke up to attend to nature, then I could not find my infinixe mobile phone.
He told the court that he searched for the phone but nowhere to be found.
He continued that he managed to move in the dark and noticed that his back door of the house was wide opened.
When I moved to the dining I found out why the door was wide open, I discovered that my ceiling was cut.
When I lifted my head up, I noticed that the entire ceiling damaged, he told the court.
The complainant, Maada Kenneh furthered that her mother helped him checked what had gone missing and noticed his generator, phone and other valuable properties carted away.
Kanneh went on, that he called upon his immediate neighbors to witness, the following days, he reported the matter to the Approve School Police Post ,Kissy, Freetown.
The witness added that while the investigations was ongoing, he discovered the stand of his musical speaker at the accused person veranda.
I wasted no time but to call on the police, the accused was arrested and statement obtained from him, he said.
The accused person was not legally represented and was remanded by Magistrate Kekura remanded the accused, matter adjoined to 14 June 2023.
