The Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) has in a press release informed the public that they would embarked on Preventive maintenance activities which would focus on the cutting down of overgrown vegetation affecting the smooth transportation of power.
According to the release, the maintenance could be affecting the smooth transportation of power from one point to the other and the serving of the 33kv air switches at the Freetown 161 station on Saturday 16th December 2023.
It continued that the objective of this activity is to maintain the strength of the network and at the same time, prevent the interruption of power supply to communities during this festive season.
It admitted that during the course of these activities the Authority would partially shut down the supply grid from Freetown 161 for safety precaution and the following area would experience power outages for a period of three hours on Saturday 16th December.
However, they said they are sorry for the inconvenience this situation may cause while also assuring the above affected communities of immediate restoration of the power supply upon completion of the maintenance activity.
