Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority Public Notice

The Management of Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority wishes to inform the general public that the Freetown Distribution Network faced multiple technical glitches due to severe weather conditions in the early hours of Wednesday, 28th May,2025. This situation has precipitated sectional outages within the Western Area. The technical team has conducted a comprehensive assessment of the network, identified problem areas and has commenced repairs and maintenance within affected communities. However, due to the gravity of the situation and while repairs and maintenance work continues on the affected network, it is imperative for residents in the following communities to note that they would experience intermittent power outages for the time being:
Youth Farm, Hastings, Grafton, Kaningo at Lumley, Lumley Regent Rd, Lumley, Babadorie, Goodem Drive, Sheriff Drive, Lumley Health Centre, IMATT, Orange Office, Gbanba Yilla, Hill Top, Old School, OAU, Masonic, Thunder Hill, Kuntorloh, Barracks, Calaba Town, Mayemi, Goderich, MMCET, Sussex Village, Cemetery, Adonkia, Old Refinery, Mega Cola, Quarry, lowcost, lower personage, Kissy, Kissy Village, Main Motor Road, Africell Office, Wilberforce Village, P&T, Marine House, Railway Line, APC Offices, SLBC, New England, Kimbima Drive, Sierra Light House, Bintumani Conference Centre, Bintumani Hotel, Banks in the CBD and few MDAs, SLRSA, Kissy Road, Fourah Bay Road, PCMH, Rockcem, Shankerdans, Ferry Junction, Fisheries, Dockyard.
Meanwhile, the Authority want to assure the general public that every effort will be made to resolve faults discovered within the shortest possible time, and further calls on the public to report faults that are not included in the above listed sections to EDSA through 672 and or substations within communities for swift resolution.
The Authority apologize to customers residing in the above listed communities for the inconvenience this situation has caused.
