Following a successful trials at the AIK Football Club, the Liberians Born sensational player, Emmanuel Gono has signed a three-year contract which will keep him in the club until December 31, 2027.
AIK Football Club (LSE: 0DI2), commonly known as AIK is a Swedish professional football club competing in the top flight of Swedish football. 
The club was founded 1891 in Stockholm and the football department was formed in 1896 and have won a lot of accolades in and out of the Swedish League. The forward has been on trial for AIK since the beginning of the year and has participated in preseason matches played during the 2024 season.
According to the AIK sport Director, Emmanuel Gono is a player with great potential and as time goes on he would continue to learn. “Gono is a player with enormous potential. Let’s be patient with him and provide him with security and trust. Welcome Ema,” says AIK sports director Thomas Berntsen.
Making his statement after the signing, Gono noted that he was very happy to sign for AIK and he is confident that he would have a great development in the club, adding that he was looking good to do his best and to help the team to achieve its positive goals.
“I am very happy to sign for AIK and I am confident that I will have a great development in the club. I look forward to doing my best and helping the team move forward,” says Emmanuel Gono.
Gona had spent time with FC Kallon in Sierra Leone. One of the formidable teams in the Sierra Leone Premier League. He was part of the Kallon squad last year but later went to Sweden for trials. But, before going to FC Kallon, he was part of a Liberian club called Muscat FC.
On January 9 this year, AIK Fotboll announced that Gono would be on trial for the club during the preseason, and he participated in the training camps held in Portugal and Spain.
His first minutes in the black and yellow jersey came in a preseason match at Grimsta IP against IF Brommapojkarna on January 27, 2024, when he was substituted in the 61st minute after he was so exceptional in throughout his time in the match.
