Abdul Sandy, an entrepreneur, Wednesday, 22nd January 2025, made his first appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No.2 on two count charges of Trespass Contrary to Section 15 (1) (a) of the Public Act no 46 0f 1965, and Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm- contrary to Section 47 of the Offence Against the Person Act of 1861.
According to the particulars of offence, the accused, Tuesday, 3rd December 2024 at No. 18 Ferguson Street, Freetown in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone, did maliciously entered into the land of Complainant Abubakarr Bangura when required not to do so.
Count two revealed that on the same date and place, the accused assaulted Abubakarr Bangura in a manner thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm.
When the charges were read and explained to the accused person, he pleaded guilty on both count charges.
The accused was legally represented by A. Maddie.
The lead prosecution, DSP Sorie Conteh, sought for a short adjournment date to have proper conference with his witness.
The Defense Counsel applied for bail for the accused and stated that he is a resident within this jurisdiction, noting that he is the breadwinner of his family and would not interfere with the prosecution witnesses.
Magistrate Bangura granted the accused bail in the sum of 10,000.00 with one surety in like sum, the bail condition to be approved by the master and Deputy Assistant Registrar.
The case was adjourned to the 5th of February, 2025, for further proceedings.
