ETU-SL Opens E-Library

Eastern Technical University, Sierra Leone, last Thursday 1 September, ‘2022 officially opened an electronic library on ETU-SL Kenema Campus.Giving an overview of the project, the Acting Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Innovation, Mr. Sullayman G. Mansaray acknowledged the efforts of Prof. Wilson-Cole, who facilitated the establishment of the e-library on the university’s campus. He informed that ETU-SL could boast of an e-books that cover all the faculties in the university.

The Registrar, ETU-SL, John Juana applauded the efforts of several Sierra Leoneans in ensuring that education has taken a different trend in the country.

He called on staff and students to utilize the opportunity that has been provided them. Juana encouraged students to make the library their friend, and reminded all that the world has become digital wherein a click of a bottom can provide all you need.

Vice Chancellor and Principal, Prof. Mohamed T. Lahai reminded all that the establishment of an electronic library was his dream when he was Principal of the then Eastern Polytechnic. He thanked God that he was commissioning a facility which he had long wished for.

He also encouraged students to effectively utilize the learning materials that had been made available at all the centers.

He urged staff to engage in researches as they form pivotal pre-requisite for the growth and development of universities. Prof Lahai reminded lecturers that in academia, publication is given a serious attention and therefore encouraged lecturers to consider it important.
