SLFA Secretariat, Kingtom, Freetown, September, 2025: Rabat-based FIFA Africa Office representatives, El Hadji Wack Diop, Head of FIFA’s Africa Office, and Fatou Camara, Development Manager, on Monday, September 22, 2025, commenced a three-day induction meeting with the newly elected President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Babadi Kamara, along with his Executive Committee and management staff.
The induction, held at the SLFA Secretariat in Freetown, is aimed at familiarizing the new leadership team with FIFA’s operational frameworks and development priorities, with particular emphasis on the FIFA Forward 3.0 program.
FIFA Forward 3.0, the latest phase of FIFA’s global development initiative, is designed to strengthen the foundation for sustainable football growth across member associations. Its key features include:
Increased investment in football development;
Greater impact through the achievement of development objectives;
Continued oversight to ensure transparent and responsible use of funds.
Also contributing to the session was FIFA Finance Consultant, Light Congomanyi, who provided expert insights on financial governance and accountability mechanisms for football development projects.
The discussions covered a broad range of topics, including the FIFA Financial Governance Guide, the structure and objectives of the FIFA Forward program, the role of the Dakar Regional Office, procurement processes, conflict-of-interest management, and guidelines for subsidies to subsidiary beneficiaries.
The three-day induction would conclude on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, with a field visit to the ongoing modernization works at the SLFA Technical Center—a flagship project in Sierra Leone’s football infrastructure development.
