A serious fire broken out at the Lebanese Junction in Kenema, causing widespread panic and significant destruction in the area. According to Eyewitnesses the fire is spreading rapidly, with thick plumes of smoke visible from miles away. The blaze has engulfed several structures, and local residents are urging authorities to respond swiftly to contain the situation.

The fire, which began in the early hours of the morning, quickly escalated, threatening both residential and commercial properties. Several businesses in the vicinity, including shops and warehouses, are reported to have been severely damaged, while many homes are at risk. Emergency responders have been called to the scene, but the fire’s rapid spread is making it challenging to control.

“We heard an explosion followed by a loud crackling sound; and by the time we looked outside, flames were already shooting into the sky,” said one eyewitness. “The fire is moving so fast. We were forced to evacuate the area to avoid being trapped. It’s terrifying to watch.”

At present, the Kenema Fire Force has mobilized to respond to the emergency, but they have urged the public to stay away from the scene to allow emergency personnel to carry out their duties safely. “We are doing everything possible to contain the fire, but it’s spreading quickly. We need the public to stay clear of the area and allow us to focus on extinguishing the flames,” said a spokesperson from the Fire Force.

Authorities are also urging residents in nearby buildings to evacuate as a precautionary measure. The fire is reportedly near a fuel station, raising concerns about the potential for further explosions that could exacerbate the situation.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, but investigations are underway. Early reports suggest the possibility of an electrical fault, though authorities have cautioned against drawing conclusions until a thorough investigation is completed.

Local businesses in the area are beginning to assess the damage, with many expressing concern about the loss of inventory and property. “This is devastating for our business,” said a shop owner who requested anonymity. “We are unsure of how much we have lost, but the fire is so widespread that it could be significant.”

Community members have been showing solidarity by offering support to those affected, with local organizations beginning to mobilize aid for those whose homes and businesses have been impacted.

As the situation develops, residents and visitors in the area are advised to remain vigilant and follow updates from local authorities.

Emergency teams are continuing to battle the blaze, and it is hoped that with the full mobilization of resources, the fire will be brought under control in the coming hours.
