Sanniquellie, Nimba County – August 20, 2025 – A milestone in Liberia’s recovery from its 14-year civil war, was marked by the inaugural helicopter landing at Sanniquellie airstrip.

The historic event attracted thousands of enthusiastic residents, who gathered to witness the revival of air travel in the area, reflecting the nation’s strides toward stability.

The helicopter’s arrival in Sanniquellie, situated in Nimba County, represents not just the restoration of aviation services, but also the resilience and determination of a community that has faced many challenges over the past decade and a half.
