The All Peoples Congress (APC) party has officially announced the upcoming membership verification exercise for its former Members of Parliament and former Councilors. The exercise, which is set to take place on Thursday, April 9th, 2025, will be conducted at the APC National Secretariat located at 11A Old Railway Line in Freetown. The verification will begin promptly at 10:00 AM.
In line with the APC 2022 Constitution, the party is urging all former Members of Parliament and Councilors to complete the verification process to ensure their membership is up to date. The initiative is a part of the party’s broader efforts to enhance the management of its membership data and streamline processes as it continues its transition towards a more digitally integrated framework.
The party has outlined a series of steps that members must follow before the verification event to ensure a smooth and efficient process:
Payment of Verification Fees: Members are required to pay a verification fee, which can be done either via a bank deposit into the Rokel Commercial Bank (Account No. 1086762), or through Orange Money. Those choosing Orange Money can complete the payment by dialing *#144# and following the instructions provided.
Proof of Membership: It is essential for members to bring the original documentation that proves their membership with the APC. This may include party cards or any other official membership certificates.
Payment Evidence: Upon arrival at the verification site, members must present proof of their payment, which can be a bank slip from Rokel Commercial Bank or a transaction confirmation from Orange Money.
Verification will be conducted by officials from the APC Secretariat; and all members are advised to ensure that they bring the necessary documents to avoid delays. The party is also encouraging its members to complete the process promptly to avoid any issues regarding their status in the party.
Lansana Dumbuya Esq., the APC’s National Secretary-General, expressed his support for the initiative, emphasizing its significance in strengthening the party’s digital transformation. “This verification exercise is not just about confirming membership, it’s part of a larger effort to digitalize our operations and ensure that our membership data is secure and up-to-date,” said Dumbuya.
He further encouraged all APC members to embrace the new digital direction, noting that such steps are crucial for the party’s long-term growth and efficiency.
The APC’s move toward a more digitalized structure aligns with the broader trend in Sierra Leone of modernizing political systems and improving transparency and accountability.
The upcoming verification event is expected to be an important step in ensuring that the APC maintains an accurate and organized membership base, with the goal of strengthening the party’s influence and role in Sierra Leone’s political landscape.
