According to the organizers, Dr. Bangura’s legacy extends far beyond the classroom. They described him as a committed educator whose passion for Peacebuilding, critical thinking, and ethical leadership has shaped the academic and professional journeys of many students.

“Dr. Bangura was not only a lecturer but also a mentor and role model,” one former student noted. “His guidance, discipline, and encouragement inspired many of us to pursue careers in Peacebuilding, governance, and community development.”

The former students also highlighted Dr. Bangura’s immense contribution to the growth and reputation of the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies, as well as his role in nurturing a new generation of scholars and practitioners committed to peace and social justice in Sierra Leone and beyond.

The dinner serves as a tribute to Dr. Bangura’s enduring impact and as a public expression of gratitude from former students whose lives and careers have been positively influenced by his service.
