In a significant diplomatic and humanitarian gesture, Nigeria’s President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, hosted the former President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, His Excellency Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja. The meeting, which was attended by high-profile dignitaries, marked a moment of solidarity and friendship between the two West African nations.
The visit comes as Dr. Koroma undergoes medical treatment in Nigeria, following an order from the High Court of Sierra Leone. The former President, who governed Sierra Leone for nearly 12 years, is currently in Nigeria receivig the necessary medical care and support.
President Tinubu extended a warm welcome to Dr. Koroma, recognizing his contributions to regional stability and leadership during his tenure from 2007 to 2018. The Nigerian leader commended Koroma’s efforts in fostering peace and democracy in Sierra Leone, particularly during the post-civil war era and the Ebola crisis that ravaged the region.
