The former Deputy Youth Leader of the APC Party Aminata Bangura has described her party as a democratic party that believes in the interest of the average person and woman in Sierra Leone.
She said the party had concluded lower-level elections that culminated to the holding of the National Delegates’ Conference for the conduct of national executive officers and flag bearer which resulted into the election of Dr Samura Kamara as presidential candidate for the APC ahead of the June 2023 general elections.
Madam Bangura lauded all flagbearer aspirants for endorsing the process and as well giving their approval on the election of Dr. Samura Kamara.
She appealed to all party members, supporters and sympathizers to work with Dr Samura Kamara to ensure victory in the first ballot.
She admonished members not to repeat the mistakes of the past, adding that, “they must ensure all hands must be on deck to support Dr. Samura Kamara to achieve his goals.”
She commended former President Ernest Bai Koroma for his democratic leadership and good governance when he was in power, and maintain that Dr Samura Kamara will continue with some of his agenda to construct new airport at the Mammah Village and improve the Free Health Care initiative.
On the business angle, she said the APC has also provided businesspeople with better business plans and microcredit to the grassroots to enable them improve their businesses.
“One thing that touches my heart is the Local Content Policy adopted by the former government for all Sierra Leoneans irrespective of your political background. It is during former President Koroma’s administration that the likes of Ahmed Gento Kamara and others were given the opportunity to operate without foreign investors,” she said.
She emphasized that “The APC has also helped local business people to invest in the country without any difficulty.”
She appealed to all youths in the APC who were supporting other flagbears to put more energy into the campaign for Dr Samura Kamara’s victory during the 24th June 2023 elections.
She urged women in the party to take the lead to work together to ensure victory during the first round. May God continue to guide all APC comrades to see victory
