Chief Executive Officer of Gento Group of Companies Mohamed Gento Kamara, the leading aspirant for mayoral symbol of the Ruling Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) has on the 14th October, 2022 promised to complete the Kuntorloh Mosque. He has also vowed to construct the road leading to the community. Kamara, one of the Sierra Leone People’s Party aspirants for the Freetown mayor, symbol, made the pledges during last Friday’s Jumah prayer with Muslims in the community including members of his campaign team and SLPP party stakeholders in the East district.
Mohamed Gento Kamara’s last week’s visit to Kuntorloh received warm receptions from SLPP stakeholders, the traditional leaders, women and youth, who turned out in their Chinese numbers and welcomed their aspirant for the mayor of Freetown. Dozens of SLPP members and supporters threw their weights behind saying that they have known Gento for development. They said Gento renders services to humanity to communities across Freetown and beyond even before vying for seat of the Mayor of Freetown, for which they expressed gratitude to him.
The community also thanked Gento for promising to alleviate the suffering they encountering especially with the deplorable road network leading. They called on him to look at other areas of development as constant electricity supply and safe drinking water.
Speaking to community members at Kuntorloh, the Chief Executive Officer, Gento Group of Companies, Mohamed Gento Kamara encouraged the Chief Imam and the Executive of the Kuntorloh Mosque to prepare a budget estimate for the completion of the mosque so as to commence both project by November this year.
He shared his political intention with the community by vying for the seat of the Mayor of Freetown under the ticket of the governing SLPP, informing that his campaign cuts across partisan lines. Kamara said his primary he’s aspiring for the municipality leadership is to bridge ethnicity which he described as a menace, with the proclivity to destroy the peace and stability of the country.
He opined that he had not wanted to enter into politics but the August 10th ugly incident which claimed the lives of innocent citizens including the security personnel triggered him to enter into politics and he is aspiring for the mayor of Freetown because he has enormous capacity to prevent such incident. Kamara said that the youth who were used as instruments of violence demonstration and protests for August 10th this year and as a businessman owning construction company has provided an employment opportunities for so many, therefore has the clout to talk them and listen for them not involve themselves into violence demonstration that will undermine the development trajectory and drive away potential investors that would have created thousands of employment opportunities for the youths.
Wife of the SLPP aspirant for the mayor of Freetown, the Chairperson of the Board at National Revenue Authority (NRA) Tuma Adama Gento Kamara implored the community to support her husband for this mayoral aspiration, as he is not in this race for money. She said her husband is a successful businessman from private sector that have made it before joining politics, therefore encouraged all to continue to support them in this aspiration. She vowed that they will never forget them when in driving seat. Mrs Kamara appealed to community to vote her husband as an independent candidate and for President Julius Maada Bio and the SLPP party which they will never regret.
SLPP East Urban District Chairman John Gbondo Margai reassured Gento of his district hundred percent support Gento Mayoral bid as he has been supporting them during National cleaning with logistics even the time he was not dreaming of aspiring for this position. Also they will to galvanize more support for Mohamed Gento Kamara so that come 2023 he will be the next mayor of Freetown municipality under the ticket of SLPP.
