The National Sports Authority (NSA) was pleased to announce to the public, particularly the football community, that the Government of the Republic of Sierra Leone, through the Ministry of Finance, has on Friday 19th April, 2024 disbursed NLE 2,912,000 (Two Million, Nine Hundred and Twelve Thousand New Leones) to the Sierra Leone Male Premier League Board for 2023/2024 season.
It continued that that funding represents the Government’s ongoing commitment to financially supporting the national top-tier football league in the country.
Adding that Since assuming power in 2018, the current Government has consistently provided substantial financial backing to the Sierra Leone Premier Leagues through their respective boards, ensuring the smooth operation of the leagues. This support had been instrumental in facilitating the organization of competitive and uninterrupted national elite football leagues each year.
The National Sports Authority acknowledges and appreciates the Government of Sierra Leone for its unparalleled support to sports development in the country. The NSA reaffirms its dedication to upholding transparency and accountability in advancing sports in Sierra Leone, ensuring that the nation’s sporting endeavours progress positively at all times.
