Hawawa Model Management and Image Consultancy on Saturday, 20th September 2025, officially unveiled Sorian Sudatu Sesay as Sierra Leone’s representative for the upcoming Miss Teen Africa 2025 competition, scheduled to take place in South Africa. The ceremony was held at 68 Pademba Road in Freetown and attracted a cross-section of fashion enthusiasts, family members, and supporters of the modeling industry.
In her statement, the Chief Executive Officer of Hawawa Model Management and Image Consultancy, Mrs. Hawawa Hawa Turay, described the unveiling as a proud moment for both her agency and the nation. She noted that the Miss Teen Africa platform would not only give Sorian an opportunity to showcase her talent but also serve as a stage to project Sierra Leone’s beauty, culture, and image to the international community.
“This is a great platform for Sorian to demonstrate what she has learned and to carry the Sierra Leonean flag with pride,” Mrs. Turay said. “She has been with the Hawawa Academy for almost three years, and during this period, her passion, determination, and consistency in modeling have set her apart from her colleagues. I strongly believe in her capabilities, and I know she is ready for this challenge.”
The event’s Chairperson, Madam Phebean Swill, also commended the decision to present Sorian as Sierra Leone’s delegate, emphasizing the importance of national support in such endeavors. She called on all Sierra Leoneans to rally behind the young model in her journey to bring home the Miss Teen Africa crown.
“This is a great move, and it is one that we should all celebrate,” Madam Swill said. “Sorian is not just representing herself or her agency, but the whole of Sierra Leone. We must stand by her, give her all the moral support she needs, and encourage her to give her best. With unity and support, she can make the nation proud.”
Speaking with excitement, Sorian Sudatu Sesay expressed her gratitude to Hawawa Model Management, her family, and the people of Sierra Leone for trusting her with this responsibility. She described her selection as both an honor and a motivation to work harder.
“I feel truly blessed to be chosen to represent Sierra Leone at Miss Teen Africa 2025,” Sorian said with a smile. “This is a dream come true, and I promise to put in my very best to showcase Sierra Leone’s beauty, culture, and talent on the international stage. I am enthusiastic about this journey, and my biggest goal is to bring the crown home.”
She was quick to acknowledge the immense support she has received from her mother and family throughout her modeling journey.
“I want to thank my mum and my entire family for standing by me since day one,” she said. “Their encouragement and sacrifices have shaped me into who I am today. Without them, this moment would not have been possible. I am forever grateful, and I dedicate this honor to them.”
The unveiling ceremony ended on a high note, with guests cheering and pledging their support for Sorian as she prepares to compete against other young models across Africa. Many expressed optimism that her commitment and training will make Sierra Leone a strong contender at this year’s Miss Teen Africa competition.
As the countdown begins to the South Africa event, all eyes are now on Sorian, who carries the hopes of a nation eager to see Sierra Leone shine on the continental stage.
