The latest record label that is making impressive moves in the Sierra Leone music industry, Red Apple Entertainment is busy searching out for the country’s raw talents in music and in other fields of entertainment.
Its recent signings are home-grown Sierra Leonean musicians, drawn from public and private Universities as well as other higher learning institutions, with well proven skills in the art of music and entertainment, especially in are of Sierra Leonean Afro-pop genres.
They include, Issa Abu Bakarr Fofanah, stage name Incredible Faith, Bob G. Prodigy, Zizo to name just the few, whose signings following their successful winnings of a rap Cypher hosted by the management of Red Apple Entertainment.
In an interview with Forum Newspaper, one of the leading Red Apple Entertainment Family members/artists, Incredible Faith explains how he is smoothly trending on his new found path to stardom, with his new hit single, ‘Na U Get De Man’. A song he says gives complete hopes to a loyal, sincere and faithful spouse. He said the song is done in a Krio language with local musical instrument purely for Sierra Leoneans at home and abroad.
Incredible Faith who started his career journey barely sixteen years ago, said once properly listened to ‘Na U Get De Man’ it will rekindles the hope of someone who had given up hope and trust in his/her spouse, adding that it also restore confidence in a loyal lovers’ total ownership of a particular relationship.
He said his works including the song making the rounds are meant for entertainment purposes not to preach political ideologies.
For me music is purely for entertainment not politics. I am doing music as a career to entertain my listeners across the globe, not to propagate by any political ideas, he said.
Incredible Faith said since he started music in 2006 this is his first time of having the opportunity of be signed a record label called Red Apple Entertainment, and furthered that he had done so many ghost works for artist by way of writing their scripts and most times take them to studios for the recording of their songs.
Asked who his inspirations are he replied; “my grandmother was a traditional singer, and she did one of the finest and most popular Temne songs called ‘De Kom de Yaeh…”
He said he inherited music from his family as he has relatives such as Shadow Boxer and Taz B. who are real musicians, reiterating that music is in his family.
Incredible Faith disclosed that his family has been very supportive, except at the initial stage when it all started exactly sixteen years ago, it was not as easy as one could imagine, not until when he embraced the opportunity of signing a deal with Red Apple Entertainment.
The more reasons he took a break for a higher learning exposure at the Freetown Teachers College, where he did a course in Higher Teachers Certificate. During his college days Incredible said he somehow dropped music and focused on his studies as he had always wanted to keep standards high.
Thereafter he explained that he was still able to highly influence so many raw talents in his community such as Leonius whom he writes songs for.
On how can he subscribes to those who are of the views that he had skipped the classroom for music, he said; “I actually don’t have problems with people criticising me. I most times get very much inspired when I am being criticised by people. People can always talk no matter what you do, they can criticise you. So it is up to me the individual they criticise,” he said.
He added that he has come across top notch professional academics who have diverted from the trained professions for music, therefore he won’t in anyway be able satisfy anybody except his own conscience.
He furthered that his label is in the country to restore appetites for Sierra Leonean music as Red Apple Entertainment songs are currently trending the airwaves of the country, playing and being heard on all radio stations.
With one of the best sound technicians and Disc Jockeys in the country, Red Apple Entertainment is sets to change the narratives about Sierra Leonean music the imitations foreign scents in songs done by local artists will soon be a things of the past.
“We are working on the Red Apple Entertainment Compilation of ten songs that will soon hit dancehalls and the airwaves everywhere in the country and beyond”, he revealed, adding that package is set draw so much attention to local music once more.
