Voice notes recorded and released from Pujehun and elsewhere in the south-east have expressed dismay at the inhumane treatments being mated on them by the Julius Maada Bio-led Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP). For such mistreatments among other things they vowed to vote out President Bio and his failed SLPP regime. The protest voice notes sounded loud and clear from the heartlands of the ruling party amid a nationwide of president Bio, and in a situation where in people are not allowed to state a peaceful protest to state their position on critical national issues affecting the general livelihoods.

In one of the audio from Pujehun the speaker said it is no longer business as usual for him and his entire family to sacrifice their votes for the SLPP and President considering the deplorable living conditions they continue to face since the SLPP and President Bio came into office in April 2028.

“We are suffering too much under the Bio and SLPP regime. And even if I am blind I will not vote Bio nor SLPP come 2023. Some of us sacrificed our votes for him in 2018 because of what we expected from him and his administration, but he has deceived us. There is absolutely no change. Nothing has changed in the last four to five years of the Bio and SLPP rule. All we are now seeing are corruption, national, ethnic, and regional divisiveness of the country. So it is impossible for some of us to vote Bio for the second time. So let them go,” the speaker in the audio laments.

The speaker furthered that they know where they are at the moment and they know where they are heading for, reiterating that they are going to vote out Bio and the SLPP as part of clarion calls from across the world to replace the failed administration with a better government in 2023.

He alleged that the government has destroyed their property including their house which was demolished and rendered homeless, arrested his daughter and the police made false allegation for crime they didn’t commit. He said they were only consoled by their APC people…so we can no longer be fooled to vote in the SLPP nor Bio. The SLPP he said are not good thus even if I am blind I won’t vote SLPP anymore and I remain strongly loyal to the APC.

The deeply embittered voice note said President Bio and his wife cannot continue to take the people of the south and eastern regions as fools, especially when the First Lady has recently lashed out at the Mendes saying that the Mende men know nothing except to undress themselves, turn off the light and jump onto their beds at night. The statement of Mrs Bio seems to have caused serious embarrassment for the Mendes of the south and eastern regions.

It furthered that even though the aforementioned regions have always voted the SLPP this time around it is not going to be traditional as they south and easterners too are equally suffering the same as people of other regions across the country. The voice notes observed that nothing has changed in the last four to five years of the SLPP and President Bio, which implies no difference but worsened situation than what was inherited in April 2018. The speakers in the voice notes said that with all the overseas trip made by President Bio nothings has been achieved out of them except further national divisiveness.

“Now you want us to vote you again for the second time. You have forced us to register but you cannot force us to vote come next year. We expected so much from you but you have completely let us down for reasons best known to you and your team of failures,” cried the speakers in the voice notes from Pujehun and other areas in the south-east.
