The city of Kenema was full of excitement and unity as Sheikh Alhaji Mohamed Omodu Kamara, popularly known as Jagaban, was warmly welcomed by the All People’s Congress (APC) South-eastern Chairladies and other senior women executives of the party.

The celebratory event was centered around the distribution of grants to support women in business and to bolster their livelihoods, a clear testament to Jagaban’s commitment to women’s empowerment and national development.

Organized to honor and support the tireless efforts of women within the APC, particularly in the Southeastern region, the gathering marked a milestone in the party’s grassroots engagement. It brought together Chairladies from across the South East, who expressed overwhelming gratitude and support for Jagaban’s leadership and inclusive vision.

Mrs. Isatu Kamara, the Chair Lady of Kenema, expressed admiration for Jagaban’s enduring support for women’s advancement. “Jagaban is not only a leader — he is a believer in the strength and potential of women,” she said. “His actions today show his commitment to empowering us not just in words but in deeds.”

Hon. Florence of Moyamba described the day as one she would never forget. “This is the happiest day of my life,” she said, adding that the event was the first-ever organized gathering of South Eastern Chair Ladies, made possible only through Jagaban’s inclusive leadership approach. Her remarks drew loud applause from the audience, who echoed her sentiments.

Mrs. Gladys, the Chair Lady of Bonthe, praised Jagaban’s impact in her district, describing him as “a true patriotic APCian” whose works have brought tangible changes. She highlighted infrastructure improvements and the building of women-focused initiatives, noting, “This kind of leadership gives us hope.”

The Chair Lady of Pujehun spoke emotionally about the ongoing challenges faced by women across the region. “We remain vulnerable to poverty and marginalization,” she said. “Jagaban’s continued support is not just welcome — it is needed now more than ever.”

In a similar tone, Madam Diana of Kailahun conveyed her appreciation for Jagaban’s consistent stance on women’s inclusion in decision-making. She applauded his efforts to amplify the voices of women within the party and beyond. “He listens, he acts, and he empowers,” she said.

Madam Ngobeh of Bo gave a strong endorsement of Jagaban, citing his influence in Bo Town and throughout Sierra Leone. “He has made visible impacts. We are not just supporting a politician — we are standing behind a visionary leader who delivers,” she emphasized, urging others in the APC to rally behind Jagaban’s political movement.

The attendees reflected on Jagaban’s track record of delivery, including the construction of a modern APC office in Kono and key investments in livelihood programs and infrastructure in districts such as Bonthe and Kambia. “Jagaban is a man of action, not empty promises,” a party spokesperson noted. “His works speak for him.”

In his keynote address, Jagaban expressed profound appreciation for the Chair Ladies and the vital role they play in community development and political mobilization. He acknowledged their resilience and sacrifices and pledged to continue backing women-led initiatives throughout the country.

“This is only the beginning of a partnership rooted in trust, unity, and progress,” Jagaban said. He then presented business support grants to the regional Chair Ladies, aimed at enhancing local economic opportunities and improving the welfare of women in their districts.

The ceremony concluded with heartfelt remarks from Madam Falilatu Bah, who thanked all participants for their presence and contributions to the occasion.

She extended well wishes for safe travels and a renewed commitment to the collective advancement of the APC and the nation. “Together, we rise,” she said, bringing the event to a powerful and emotional close.
