Following a well-attended ceremony marking his late mother’s one year memorial service, the ever active Minister of Information and Communications, Mohamed Rahman Swaray, has held talks with teachers and students of his former school, the Kenema Islamic Secondary School, on Monday 20th February, to help plan the official launch of the Mohamed Rahman Swaray Foundation.
According to the initiators, the Foundation is an entirely self-driven initiative by students and teachers who have decided to honour the Minister for his philanthropic commitment to the welfare of students and the school. It was also revealed that the Foundation will be used to support school activities such as the establishment of a Literary and Debating Society, and other performance enhancing programmes for students.
Minister of Information and Communications, Mohamed Rahman Swaray, expressed his gratitude for the recognition given to him by his former school and declared his total commitment to the successful launch of the Foundation.
A range of other issues, including the restoration of internet connectivity to the school, teacher’s welfare and the plans for the official launch of the Mohamed Rahman Swaray Foundation were discussed.
