Kholifa Star football team, one of the promoted teams from division one has held East End Lions FC to a 1:1 draw in the ongoing Sierra Leone Premier League. In a mouth-watering encounter and anticipated match at the Makeni Wusum Stadium, Kholifa Stars Football Club held 1:1 draw against East End Lions.
Both teams played extremely well in ensuring that one can grab all the three points especially the visitors East End Lions, but the home side Kholifa Stars FC who are bottom on the league table were resilience and were well organized at the back.
Home side, Kholifa Stars FC demonstrated Perseverance and Resilience in the fight away from Relegation zone by holding one of the top teams in Sierra Leone football, East End Lions to a 1:1 draw.
East End Lions took the lead in the early minutes of the 2nd half after an Own goal by Kholifa Star’s Mohamed Papa Kamara due to pressure and massive attacking force by East End Lions. But, the home side came very strong and their sensational player
Mario Jabbie (Zaza) scored the equalising goal after a superb and brilliant assist by Santigie Dumbuya (Mature) to help Kholifa Stars got the equalising goal. Santigie Dumbuya of Kholifa Stars FC won Man of the Match award for his outstanding performance throughout the match especially in providing the assist that levelled the score line.
This award marks his 3rd Man of the Match of the season so far. Despite the draw with East End Lions, Kholifa stars remains at the bottom of the Sierra Leone Premier League with 15 points after 20 games played, whilst East End Lions are in the 4th position with 34 points after 21 games played so far in the league.
