The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) headquarters is currently investigating one Fuad Ayoub, a businessman in Sierra Leone, who is residing at Africanus Hotel in Freetown.

Impeccable sources close to this medium have revealed that Fuad Ayoub, a Lebanese National residing in Sierra Leone, has been issuing illegal or fake passports to people, especially to Lebanese nationals who want to claim citizenship right in Sierra Leone.

According to investigation done by this medium,  a voice message in Arabic, (translated into English) between Fuad Ayoub himself greeting and talking to one Mr Mohamed whom he was doing the illegal passport deal with, revealed the whole scam by Mr Ayoub.

Our sources revealed that Mr Ayoub used to prepare the Sierra Leone passport for US$4,500 each, but because of one of his friends by the name Nabil, who showed Mohamed to Ayoub, the passport was to be prepared for Mr Mohamed at the cost of US$4,000.

Mr Ayoub, according to our sources, would always assure his clients of a 100% authentic document and “there is no way it will be discovered that it is fake”.

Mr Ayoub would always assure people that the passport could be used to apply for Visas, adding that it can also be renewed without detecting that it is fake, our investigations revealed.

Our sources further said that Mr Ayoub was heard and recorded telling his friend Nabil to assure Mr Mohamed the customer that he Mr Ayoub just finished making a passport for someone and a week ago he made several passports for some Sierra Leoneans.

According to our sources, Mr Ayoub could even make diplomatic Sierra Leonean passports together with identity cards to accompany the passport.

“If you want to show that you were born in Sierra Leone I will make a birth certificate for you or the customer, which will show that you were born in Sierra Leone,” Ayoub would assure his customers.

Our sources revealed that Mr Ayoub had been nabbed or arrested by police and he is helping CID officers in their investigation regarding the passport deal.

Mr Ayoub was arrested on Monday 30th May 2022 in Freetown, and immediately taken to the police headquarters before taken to the CID headquarters for questioning.

Presently the anti-fraud department at the CID Room 47 is looking into the matter, while the suspect is currently looked up at the CID headquarters, where he is awaiting further investigations.

The head of CID R.P.G Robert, who spoke to our reporter, told this medium that the said matter is currently under police investigation.

This medium will continue to follow up this alleged illegal passport fraud. Whether Ayoub is still in detention as we go to press is yet to be confirmed.
