As a way to celebrate their significant milestone of 15 years in operations, United Bank for Africa (UBA) Sierra Leone is set to give away over NLe350,000.00 to its value customers. This disclosure was recently made by banking executives at the official launch of the UBA Legacy Promo.

The lunching took place at the bank’s headquarters on 15 Charlotte Street in Freetown, also aligned with UBA’s 75th global anniversary, showcasing the bank’s long-standing commitment to excellence and innovation in the financial sector.

Giving an overview of the scheme, the Head of Retail Banking, UBA-SL, Christiana Saio Lamina disclosed that the UBA Legacy Promo is designed to reward customers, pointing out it is aimed at demonstrating UBA’s profound appreciations to customers for their loyalty to the bank for the excellence service being delivered to the public by UBA-SL. “We have established many legacies over the years and are committed to continuing this tradition,” Lamina said.

She added that, the promo offers three tiers of cash prizes to a total of 60 winners. The top tier includes a cash prize of Le10, 000 for 20 winners, the second tier offers Le5,000 for another 20 winners, and the third tier provides Le2,500 for 20 more winners. To ensure wide participation, the promotion is structured in two phases, with the first draw scheduled for September and the second for the last week of December.

She said participation in the promo is straightforward: customers need to deposit Le10,000 to be eligible for the top prize, or as little as Le2,000 to qualify for the lower categories. Importantly, these deposits must remain in the account until the draw is completed, with larger deposits increasing the chances of winning. This approach not only incentivizes customers to save but also reinforces UBA’s commitment to rewarding loyalty.

Making his statement at the launching of the promotion, the Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, Sallieu Sesay, highlighted the purpose of the UBA Legacy Promo as a way for the bank to customers and express gratitude to its loyal customers. “This promo is a way for us to thank our customers and celebrate our anniversary by giving back,” Sesay explained. The promotion is designed to reward 60 customers with various cash prizes, a gesture that underscores UBA’s appreciation for the continued support and trust of its clients over the years.

From his part, the Chief Operating Officer Chiedu Ngene reflected vividly on UBA’s journey in Sierra Leone, emphasizing the bank’s role as a pioneer in the financial sector. “We believe that celebrating our 15 years in Sierra Leone is best done by giving back to those who have been with us through the years,” Ngene said. He pointed out UBA’s significant contributions, including the introduction of AI-driven account opening via WhatsApp and being the first bank in West Africa to install an ATM. These innovations have not only set UBA apart but have also enhanced the banking experience for Sierra Leoneans.

Ngene also highlighted the various account options available at UBA, such as the UBA Sharp-Sharp account, which can be opened with a minimums deposit of just Le10. “Having an account is not just a privilege but a responsibility,” he noted, encouraging everyone to take advantage of the bank’s user-friendly and accessible services. This message reinforced UBA’s commitment to financial inclusion and its efforts to make banking more accessible to a broader segment of the population.

On the bank’s continuing commitments to Sierra Leone, as UBA celebrates its 15th anniversary in the country, the bank’s leadership reiterated its dedication to continuing its legacy of innovation, customer service, and financial inclusion. The UBA Legacy Promo is just one example of how the bank is investing in the community and giving back to those who have supported its growth over the years.

The event closed on a high note, with UBA officials expressing their gratitude to the customers and stakeholders who have been part of the bank’s journey in Sierra Leone. As UBA looks to the future, the bank remains committed to enhancing customer engagement, driving innovation, and contributing to the economic development of Sierra Leone.

The UBA Legacy Promo is more than just a celebration; it’s a testament to UBA’s enduring commitment to its customers and its role as a leading financial institution in Sierra Leone. As the bank marks this milestone, it continues to set the standard for excellence in the banking industry, both in Sierra Leone and across the African continent.
