Week 26 of the Leone Rock Premier League brought fans a mix of thrilling performances, surprising results, and crucial battles at both ends of the table. With the season drawing closer to its climax, every point matters—and Week 26 certainly delivered excitement in abundance.

The week opened with Luawa FC playing out a goalless draw against Wilberforce FC. Despite both teams showing flashes of attacking intent, neither side could find the breakthrough. It was a similar story in two other encounters: SLIFA FC vs. Freetown City, and Kamboi Eagles vs. Bo Rangers, both ending in 0-0 stalemates. The defensive approach from teams continues to define this tense stage of the season.

One of the standout fixtures of the week saw East End Lions edge past Mighty Blackpool with a 2-1 win. The Lions have now solidified their place at the top of the league table with 54 points. The victory highlights their consistency and determination to claim the title. In stark contrast, Mighty Blackpool—one of the league’s historic giants—find themselves in dire straits, sitting 17th with just 24 points. The defeat deepens their relegation fears, marking one of the lowest points in recent memory for the once-mighty ‘Tis Tas Boys.’

Another entertaining game unfolded between Bhantal FC and FC Kallon, ending in a 1-1 draw. Bhantal took the lead through Alhassan Daramy in the 33rd minute, only for FC Kallon’s Osman Sesay to snatch an equalizer late in the game. The result leaves both teams reflecting on missed opportunities as they chase strong finishes to the season.

Old Edwardians and Bullom Stars played one of the most exciting matches of the week. In a five-goal thriller, Old Edwardians emerged 3-2 winners, thanks to goals from James Jusu Kanja, Mohamed Fogbowa, and Umaru Fofanah. Bullom Stars put up a fight with goals from Alhassan Sylla and Ibrahim Kamara, but it wasn’t enough. Old Edwardians remain steady in 7th place with 41 points, while Bullom Stars continue to flirt with relegation, sitting 13th on 27 points.

Ports Authority delivered one of their best performances of the season with a commanding 4-1 victory over Bai Bureh Warriors. A brace from Musa Kamara in the 50th and 53rd minutes secured the win, lifting spirits in a team still trapped in the red zone. The result brings hope for Ports Authority, who must build on this momentum if they are to escape relegation.

In a closely contested Northern derby, Diamond Stars narrowly defeated Wusum Stars 1-0. Musa Samura’s 76th-minute strike proved to be the difference. Diamond Stars now sit in 10th place with 31 points, just ahead of Wusum Stars who are 11th with 30 points. Both sides remain locked in the mid-table battle, with every point proving vital.

Though technically part of Week 25, Star Sport’s 2-0 win over Abacha FC also caught attention. Goals from Alie Ramadan and Momoh Conteh in the dying minutes sealed the win, keeping Star Sport’s hopes alive for a respectable season finish.

As the Leone Rock Premier League intensifies, the competition for the title and the fight to avoid relegation are reaching boiling points. With only a few weeks remaining, every match now feels like a final. Fans across the nation are watching closely, as teams fight for pride, survival, and glory.

Who will rise, who will fall—and who will ultimately claim the crown? Week 27 promises to be even more dramatic.
