At a time when Sierra Leone needs principled leadership, it is disgraceful that lies and political mudslinging have taken center stage. A recent false claim suggests Dr. Ibrahim Bangura is only in the APC leadership race because of an alleged romantic link to Danke Koroma, the younger daughter of former President Ernest Bai Koroma.
This is a complete fabrication.
The two have never met. The claim is not only false but also an insult to both their dignities. Danke, a private citizen, has been unfairly targeted multiple times simply because of her father’s name. How is this fair? Would those spreading these lies accept their own daughters or susters, nieces being used as political scapegoats?
This attack is not just about Dr. Bangura, it is a cowardly assault on decency. His candidacy is built on merit, not family ties. He has played a key role in APC’s reform battles, party restructuring, and grassroots mobilization. His leadership credentials stand on their own.
Let’s be clear: those who rely on slander and deception in opposition will rule with the same dishonour if given power. Sierra Leone deserves better. The APC deserves truth. And Danke Koroma deserves respect. Please leave her out of your toxic politics of no conscience. Be a man and go confront Dr Ibrahim Bangura on policies abd facts, he is the one seeking political office.
