Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on Friday 15th March 2024 has sentenced a thirty-four years old Mohamed Kamara an apprentice. The convict was before the court on Conspiracy contrary to law and Larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on Monday 26th February 2023 at Ross Road the western area in Freetown conspired together and with other persons unknown to commit a crime to wit Larceny on count two at the above date and place the accused person stole from one black Toyota Hilux with registration number ALL 289 three fuel chitchat containing nine hundred and ninety litres of diesel fuel, one National identity card, one ECOWAS identity card, drivers licence, a pair of sandals and other assorted items equivalent to the sum of thirty five thousand four hundred and forty five Leones(35,445) property of Ibrahim Surba Joseph Lakha.
The charges were read and explained to the accused person he pleaded guilty. The accused person was unrepresented he pleaded with the bench to temper justice with mercy against him. Due to the plea mitigation by the accused person Magistrate Kekura sentenced him to six months imprisonment at the correctional facility in Freetown Inspector Kadie M. Taylor prosecute the matter.
