When the charge was read and explained to the accused person, he pleaded not guilty.

Inspector Kadie M. Taylor led in prosecution witness number one, Clarise King, who recognized the accused person in the matter; and she recalled that on the 24th day of January 2025, she was walking along Campbell Street when he saw the accused person driving away the vehicle, prompting her to take a motorbike to follow the vehicle.

King maintained that she traced the vehicle towards the East-end part of Freetown where the police officers there took them to Congo Cross Police Station and made a statement about the said RAV 4 vehicle.

The defence counsel, C.Kamara, applied for bail on behalf of the accused person, stating that he is a family man and a citizen of this country with a fix abode, making his application pursuant to Section 79 (3) of the criminal Procedure Act No.32 of 1965.

Magistrate Kekura refused bail due to the seriousness of the offence charged against the accused.

The matter was adjourned to the 11th February 2025 for further hearing.
