Freetown, Sierra Leone, Chobby Williams on Thursday, 10 October, 2024 made his first appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No 2 for trial on one count charge of shop breaking and larceny contrary to section 26(1) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particular of offence that you, Chobby Williams on Saturday 10 August 2024, at No 29 Chapel Street Freetown in the western area of the republic of SL broke and entered into the shop of Aye Kamara and stole therein the sum of Eighteen Thousand Leones (Le 18,000) and Seven Hundred United States Dollars ($7,000) which equivalent to Sixteen Thousand Eight Hundred Leones (Le 16,800) all to the total value of Thirty-Four Thousand Eight Hundred Leones (Le 34,800) properties of the said Aye Kamara. As the charge was read and explained to the accused person he pleaded not guilty of the said crime. The prosecuting council DSP Conteh S sought for a short adjournment date to present his first witness.
Meanwhile, magistrate Bangura refused bail and sent the accused person to male correctional center in Freetown as the said case has been adjourned to the 14th of October, 2024 for further proceedings.
