Police in Sierra Leone have declared the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) Bombali district youth activist wanted following the August 10th protest, which claimed dozens of innocent lives.Joseph Johnson, a vibrant political youth activist in northern Sierra Leone, commanded a large following of young people across the region and beyond.
Johnson, prior to, during and even after the much talked-about faceless August 10th protest in the country, has been chased by security personnel of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces and the Sierra Leone Police to get him killed.
He was chased out of his home in Makeni, shortly after his peer, Hassan Dumbuya, alias Evangelist Sampson, was killed in the same town.
A family member who spoke to FORUM in a condition of anonymity, said that since the killing of Hassan Dumbuya, police and other security agencies have launched a manhunt for Joseph Johnson.
The family member disclosed that the state wants to kill certain people in the north for what is being alleged as inciting a violent protest that led to the brutal killing of civilians and security personnel. Joseph Johnson is therefore on the list of APC activists to be killed or executed by the Sierra Leone security apparatus.
