While in Bo City, I received inspiring updates about the overwhelming Islamic celebration and community warmth in Kambia District, where the leading APC flagbearer aspirant, Dr. Ibrahim Bangura, joined the Muslim faithful for Jummah Prayers at the Kambia Central Mosque on Friday, 29th August 2025.
Reports from the ground described a joyous atmosphere as the people of Kambia came out in large numbers to welcome Dr. Bangura. The mood was filled with unity, reverence, and optimism as the respected aspirant stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the Muslim community, sharing in the spirit of worship and reflection.
A local resident, Mohamed Kanu, spoke passionately about the significance of Dr. Bangura’s visit. “Dr. Ibrahim Bangura is truly a blessed personality. 
Wherever he goes in Sierra Leone, people are happy to receive him,” he said. Kanu drew comparisons to the national excitement in 2007 surrounding the emergence of former President Ernest Bai Koroma and emphasized that Kambia has fully embraced Dr. Bangura as the most suitable candidate to lead the APC.
He appealed directly to APC delegates, the National Advisory Committee (NAC), party executives, and fellow aspirants to consider the unique qualities Dr. Bangura brings. “He has no stain of corruption, he hasn’t served in any government position. His record is clean, and his character is trustworthy,” Kanu declared.
Kanu further revealed that the people of Kambia are eager to lead the campaign in support of Dr. Bangura’s candidacy, noting that their grassroots mobilization efforts are already in motion.
