The 2021Audit Report, recently published by the Audit Services Sierra Leone has confirmed that the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education in Kono District made a withdrawal of Le 23,200,000 without supporting a document.
According to the 2021 Audit Report the withdrawal of Le 23,200,000 as indicated in a cheque stub did not have supporting documents to justify its use.
The report recommended that the DD and FO should provide supporting document to justify the use of Le 23,200,000 in question.
In Bombali District the Report stated that the Ministry of Basic and Senior Education did not carry out any procedures to dispose of assets that were no longer serviceable.
The report also capture that the ministry had two motorbikes that were not registered with the Sierra Leone Roads Safety Authority and two motorbikes were allocated to people who were not staff at the ministry.
The report observed that five core staff, including the Regional Education Officer, two Education Officers, Stores Officer and IT Officer was without motorbikes.
