The general public is hereby informed that His Excellency the President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma has left Freetown this morning to attend the 30th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

His Excellency the President will effectively participate in deliberations on this year’s theme, “winning the fight against corruption: a sustainable path to Africa’s transformation”.

He will deliver a valedictory statement and also update his colleagues Heads of State and Government, in his capacity as Chairperson of the Committee of Ten (C-10), on the reform of the United Nations in which Africa is demanding Two Permanent Seats in the Security Council of the United Nations with all the prerogatives and privileges.

The President will also address the Sierra Leonean community in Ethiopia on general governance issues and the country’s preparedness for the general elections slated for March 7 this year.

The President and his entourage are expected back in Freetown on Monday, January 29, 2018.
