In a fascinating encounter, Might Blakpool has held Port Authority into a goalless draw in the ongoing Sierra Leone Premier League.
This match took place on Tuesday 16 April 2024, at the SLFA football Academy Kingtom in Freetown. Port Authority FC and Mighty Blackpool battled to a deadlock on Tuesday at the SLFA Academy, with both teams earning a share of the points after the end of the 90 minutes of played.
Both teams were optimistic for the three points after they had put up a great fight to secure the three points, but their defence was tightened to the point that they couldn’t find the breakthrough in the first and second half of play.
It’s worthy to note that, this is the first competitive match for Ports Authority after the loss of their Head Coach Lamin in a fatal accident. And it’s also the first for Mohamed Bangura (Ahuwa) as New Interim Coach for Port Authority.
Coach Bangura is a former captain of Ports Authority, and has started his campaign with a draw against might Blackpool
After touch match, Mohamed Alie Conteh (Alves) of Might Blackpool won the man of the match award for his exceptional performance in the match against Ports Authority.
However, Port Authority wear a Leone star shirt during their warming up session against Mighty Blackpool on Tuesday, attributing their former head coach Lamin Dumbuya who died couple of weeks ago.
Port Authority are in 12th position with 23 points after 19 games played, whilst Might Blackpool are in 13 position with 23 points respectively after 21 games played so far in the league.
