MOYA, Freetown, 20th July 2025
Minister of Youth Affairs, Ibrahim Sannoh, brought energy and inspiration to the School Yard Field on Ferguson Street, Central Freetown, as he officially kicked off a thrilling community football match between New England and Dwarzac. With over 10,000 passionate fans in attendance, the field came alive with vibrant displays of talent, unity, and youthful pride.
The Minister was specially invited to perform the ceremonial kickoff in recognition of his recent strides in promoting youth empowerment, particularly his hands-on support for grassroots initiatives at the School Yard Field and beyond. His presence spoke volumes, symbolizing the government’s growing commitment to investing in young people and providing platforms where they can thrive through sports, leadership, and innovation.
This wasn’t just a football match, it was a celebration of national identity and the power of youth to shape the future. Minister Sannoh’s engagement highlighted the vital link between sports, community development, and nation-building. By championing events like these, he continues to inspire a generation to believe in themselves and their country.
The kickoff marked more than the start of a game, it signaled a movement. A movement driven by hope, unity, and the unstoppable spirit of Sierra Leone’s youth.
